AIDS Walk Los Angeles is seeking enthusiastic, motivated individuals to become representatives for our outreach team! AIDS Walk Los Angeles is a fundraising walkathon benefiting AIDS Project Los Angeles (APLA) and other L.A. County AIDS service organizations. The 10k walk begins and ends in West Hollywood on Sunday, October 17.
Position: Outreach representatives will distribute posters, registration materials, and point-of-purchase stands in local stores and businesses throughout Los Angeles County in an effort to maximize visibility, build awareness and generate excitement about the upcoming AIDS Walk Los Angeles.
This position is TEMPORARY and pays $15/hour. Positions begin on Tuesday, August 3 and will last approximately two weeks. During this time, the job will be a FULL TIME position, working from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm. Applicants must commit to the full two weeks with no schedule conflicts. Depending on performance, additional employment opportunities may become available after the initial hiring period.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
• Must be enthusiastic and articulate with a customer service personality
• This is a physically demanding job; must be comfortable lifting a minimum of 35 pounds and being on your feet for the majority of the day
• Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision
• Must be dependable and have reliable car with proof of insurance
• Fluency in Spanish or another language is a plus, as is knowledge of AIDS Walk Los Angeles
• Previous marketing and/or promotional experience is highly desirable
